Transwestern releases Year End Report:

For many of us in the real estate business, 2009 was one of those years we’d rather forget. As we close the books on a very challenging year and look forward to better times in 2010, everyone wants to know one thing – “Have we hit the bottom yet?”

As with any real estate cycle, it is difficult to predict that bottom until we’re looking back at it from the rear view mirror. But it is our opinion that we have seen the worst of the market downturn in the Twin Cities, and we are poised for a rebound – albeit a slow one. Unemployment rates are stabilizing. Investors and tenants appear to be actively pursuing transactions, and free-falling vacancy rates seem to be leveling off.
